Michael Todd Duke sworn in as board member; officers elected and routine appointments approved

Michael Todd Duke recited the oath and was sworn in as a member of the Centerville-Abington Com Schs board during the meeting that began at 7:00 p.m. The board then moved through its annual organizational business, electing officers and confirming routine appointments.

The board opened nominations for president and, after a motion and a second, nominated and approved Michael Todd Duke for president. The board then nominated Brad Lambrite for vice president and elected Renee Westover as board secretary after separate motions and votes. The group also voted to retain the treasurer and deputy treasurer positions as they were in 2025; that motion passed 5–0.

Members reviewed board compensation for the year: the packet listed a current rate of $2,000 per year with $100 per regular meeting and $62 per special meeting and noted a statutory cap of up to $4,800 per year with $150 per meeting and $75 per special meeting. A motion to leave compensation at the current rate was moved, seconded and approved.

The consent agenda, which included routine items and acknowledgments of donations, was approved by the board. The board thanked the Lions Club and the Jean and Helier and Jetsel Reeves Memorial Trust for recent donations and acknowledged Mr. Stevenson for his contribution. Finally, the board appointed its members to the board of finance and set the next board-of-finance meeting for the 28th at 6:45 p.m.

The board also named Brad Lambrite as the legislative liaison for the 2026 calendar year by motion and vote. The meeting moved on to other agenda items after completing organizational business.
