Tree Allies sets tentative Nov. 1 tree-sale pickup; organizers discuss demonstrations, parking and grant options

At their September meeting Tree Allies members discussed logistics for a fall tree sale, with Mike Beam proposing the distribution be scheduled for Nov. 1 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. He said the location was still to be decided (Miller Park was suggested as an option) and that tree-planting demonstrations would be offered on the half hour.
Beam said volunteers would provide coffee and doughnuts, Tree Allies literature and signage, and that trunk guards would be available for display or distribution. He also said he would contact Clermont shops to request use of a parking lot for pick-up and would set up a portable sign currently stored in the Clermont barn.
During the same segment Tim Lombard noted recent tree trimmings; members acknowledged the observation and agreed to note it for follow-up. Larry reported that KIB “may not be an option” because it is not Indianapolis-based; he planned to meet with KIB on Monday to assess the possibility of their involvement and said he is pursuing Urban Forestry grant opportunities. Krystal was mentioned as another possible contact or option for support.
The meeting concluded after Larry moved to adjourn and Linda Straub seconded the motion. The minutes do not record a formal roll-call vote for the adjournment motion.
