The Secretary said the Board of Governors met twice in fiscal 2024 and that meeting minutes and an updated HAPOC webpage are available for members. The Treasurer reported that revenues to date and expected expenses leave the organization in good financial shape and that the 2025 annual member assessment is expected to remain unchanged from the prior year.
Board members identified the dune-fencing restoration project as a principal expense; other ongoing expenses include Directors & Officers and liability insurance and payment for the Beach Ambassadors. The Treasurer summarized that cost-sharing with Henlopen Acres Beach Club has lowered mobilization costs for fencing maintenance.
The board announced an election for two vacancies on the Board of Governors. A nomination letter will be sent to members on Aug. 15, nominations will be accepted through Aug. 29, and ballots will be emailed in the second week of September. Pete Partridge will serve as the Independent Chair of the Nominating Committee, and the firm Marshall Wagner will count ballots and report the results.
During a Q&A, a property owner requested moving the start time of the annual dune cleanup on June 21 to 11 a.m. to accommodate tennis players; the board approved the change. A separate owner asked the board to consider installing sand mats on a hot section of the access path; the board said it would investigate and report back to members.
A motion to adjourn was made and approved, and the meeting ended at 11:17 a.m. ET.
