The Henlopen Acres Property Owners Committee agreed on Sept. 1 to take responsibility for cleaning and restoring a sign dedicated to Charles Mills mounted on the arch at the Rolling Road entrance to Block W.
Pierce Mills sent a letter to the town asking that the sign — not the arch itself — be restored. The minutes record that although the town initially installed the sign, the arch sits on Block W and HAPOC accepted responsibility for cleaning and restoring the sign.
David Richards volunteered to assist with the restoration. The minutes note the sign was removed for restoration on Sept. 6, 2024, and that Board member Paddy Richards will inform the mayor of HAPOC's decision.
Next steps: HAPOC has removed the sign and initiated restoration; Paddy Richards will notify the mayor and the board will monitor the restoration progress.
