Council removes older minutes from website for ADA reasons; notes tax-forfeited properties and union talks

Council approved removing 2017–2020 minutes from the city website because they are not ADA compliant and directed copies be provided on request; members also reviewed notice of three tax-forfeited properties to be auctioned Dec. 8 and discussed cemetery cleanup and ongoing union negotiations with IBEW.
The city website administrator told council that meeting minutes from 2017–2020 posted on the site are not ADA compliant. Council voted to remove those minutes from the public website and to provide copies upon request (motion by Danielle Williams, seconded by Ron Kelley; all ayes).
Council reviewed a notice from the Martin County Auditor that tax-forfeited property will be offered at auction on Dec. 8, 2025, and noted there are three properties in Truman on the list. Mayor Jake Ebert asked Superintendent Brent Brown to address trees and branches down at the cemetery.
Mayor Ebert and Councilor Ron Kelley also reported meeting earlier that day with IBEW union representative Josh Laven about renewal of the union agreement set to expire at year-end; notes from that meeting were shared and a draft amended agreement will be brought to an upcoming council meeting for consideration.
