Truman council approves one-year $16,400 contract with CEDA

The Truman City Council voted unanimously Nov. 17 to approve a one-year contract with Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) for $16,400, to begin Jan. 1, 2026. The motion to approve the contract was made by Councilor Ron Kelley and seconded by Chad Truax.
During review of the proposed contract, Councilor Danielle Williams said she was concerned about a previous grant CEDA had written that resulted in a substantial charge from engineering firm Bolton & Menk. Dave Schmidt of CEDA responded to the council’s concern and assured members the same issue would not recur. Councilors scheduled a December meeting to develop a work plan with CEDA.
The contract funds will support the city’s economic development activities under terms that will be finalized when the council reviews the formal agreement and the December work plan. Council did not specify details of the work plan in the meeting minutes.
