Truman City Council selects WDads for sidewalk snow removal, approves claims and mileage back pay

The Truman City Council on Oct. 6 accepted WDads’ low bid for sidewalk snow and ice removal for the 2025–2026 season and approved a series of fiscal and operational measures, including payment of claims and mileage back pay.
Mayor Jake Ebert opened three bids for sidewalk snow removal; bids were T-Town at $150.00 per hour, WDads at $48.00 per hour and Truax Concrete at $50.00 per hour. Councilor Ron Kelley moved to accept the low bid from WDads; councilor Chad Truax seconded and the motion carried with all ayes.
The council also approved payment of claims totaling $369,671.38 (checks #43136–#43168; ACH #1169E–#1185E; #501963E and #501973E). Councilor Chad Truax moved to approve the claims and Councilor Ron Kelley seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
On new business, the council acknowledged that mileage payments required by city ordinance 201.09 were overlooked in 2023 and 2024. Councilor Danielle Williams moved and Councilor Chad Truax seconded a motion to approve back pay for 2023 and 2024 mileage payments per the ordinance and to have the city attorney draft an amendment to address the ordinance language. That motion carried with all ayes.
Other formal actions taken at the meeting included adoption of two resolutions to accept donations and to make a voluntary $5,000 city contribution to the Truman Fire Department pension account (see "Votes at a glance" below for details).
