Clermont council accepts February financials, approves minutes and renames CCMG funds

At its March 12 meeting, the Clermont Town Council unanimously accepted the February financial report and approved oversight and regular meeting minutes.
Clerk-Treasurer Larry Beiter presented month and year-to-date financial statements and said February bank reconciliation was completed successfully. Councilor Topf moved to accept the February financial report and Councilor Frank Lemaire seconded; the motion passed by unanimous roll-call vote. Councilors then moved to accept minutes from the February 12 Oversight Committee and Regular Council meetings; both motions passed unanimously.
On community events, Councilor Tim Lambard outlined plans for annual holiday-decorating contests with prizes of $100, $50 and $25 for first through third place and an Honorable Mention for nearby non-Clermont homes; he moved to hold the contests annually and award the prizes discussed; the motion passed unanimously.
The council also agreed to rename their CCMG (Community Crossing Matching Grant) fund to a more generic designation so the account can be reused annually without renaming. Councilor Lambard moved to make the change; Councilor Lemaire seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Councilors discussed several ongoing operational items including storm-drain complaints and coordination with Citizens Energy and encouraged residents to report potholes and drainage issues to INDOT and relevant utilities. Councilor Lemaire also noted that residents reported hearing gunshots on Woodale Drive in early March and Attorney Lutz advised calling 911 when such incidents occur.
The meeting ended with a unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:19 PM. An executive session is scheduled for March 17 at 6:00 PM to follow up on the previously discussed real-estate matter.
