Road and Bridge: hires approved and asphalt/cold‑mix bids awarded

Road and Bridge staff presented several personnel and procurement items. Commissioners authorized the CP2 appointment for Tracy Woods (landfill clerk, wage classification noted in the motion) and approved a seasonal hire for Kaden Hawkins (not to exceed 500 hours) to support spring and summer work schedules.
Procurement approvals included award recommendations for liquid asphalt products to three suppliers (Wright Asphalt for CHFRS-2P; Urgon Asphalt and Emulsions Incorporated for SS-1H; and Coast Energy Corporation for CQS-1F) and a cold-mix patching-material award to APAC Kansas Incorporated (Cheers division). Staff explained vendor responses and relative pricing; commissioners approved the recommendations with funds to be paid from the road and bridge fund.
Road staff also updated commissioners on a north-property survey in progress and discussed the statutory process and next steps for two separate road/streets closure requests that will require selection of three disinterested 'road viewers' and a public hearing before any right-of-way vacation could be finalized.
