Coffee County Board of Health approves five SFY27 grant applications totaling the amount listed in the meeting packet

Marshall outlined active and proposed funding streams: the state formula (budget for employee salaries), a Family Planning (Title X) request of $11,977 with a matching requirement (Marshall used a 50% match for the application), an Immunization Action Plan request (approximately $3,761 with a similar match), a Maternal and Child Health Title V request (about $10,485 with matching funds), and a Public Health Emergency Preparedness request (approximately $8,818). She also described smaller mini-grants and ongoing public-health programs (matter-of-balance fall-prevention classes, safe-sleep baby shower, and public-health infrastructure funds).
After discussing program goals, budgeting and match requirements, the board recessed as the Board of Health and voted to approve the SFY27 grant application package and to authorize the chairman to sign the grant application signature page. Marshall said the grant period covered July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 and noted that award notification timing varies by program and the state’s processing schedule.
The board recorded the motion and approved the application package by voice vote.
