Pittsboro council approves parks license conditional on insurance, appoints Kyle Martin to Planning Commission

The Pittsboro Town Council approved, conditionally, a two-year licensing agreement between the town park board and Triwitt's youth soccer for use of Skimhorn Park, contingent on the youth soccer organization providing a certificate of insurance.
Council discussed the license terms, which include an initial fee and annual fee schedule, and a standard set of maintenance and conduct expectations for use of park facilities. The council’s approval was conditional on receipt of the requested insurance documentation before final execution.
The council president also announced he is appointing Kyle Martin to the town’s Planning Commission with a term running through Dec. 31, 2028. The appointment was announced at the meeting and will be followed up administratively.
Separately, the president introduced an application for voluntary annexation submitted by the Elizabeth and Richard Griffin life-estate interest in Jerry Love covering five parcels totaling about 196.98 acres; a public hearing on that petition was scheduled for the February meeting.
