Resident Wanda Berthiaume told the council the end of the playground slide is about "5' away from [the] sidewalk," raising a safety concern and asking that the slide be turned so it faces Federated Co‑op and that the city help move pea gravel for surfacing.
Wanda also proposed formation of a Parks & Recreation committee to oversee park improvements. The council discussed the request and later in the meeting approved a quote for 77 cubic feet of rubber mulch (20'x40'x4') at $2,856 and approved playground repairs; the motions were moved and seconded and carried by unanimous vote.
The council noted a logistical consideration that the city may need to provide a way to unload the material from a delivery truck and that permission from Federated Co‑op would be needed to reorient the slide toward that property. No formal decision to reorient the slide or to form a Parks & Recreation committee was recorded; council discussion on the committee was tabled for future consideration.
