Murray County board approves 2027 ambulance assessment increases for townships and cities

The Murray County Board on June 2 approved sending the 2026 Ambulance Service Agreements to townships and cities within the Murray County Ambulance Primary Service Area and approved a 2027 rate increase intended to replenish funds set aside for ambulance replacement.
Commissioners recorded that the agreement funds are held as an assigned fund balance for future ambulance replacement and noted the rate had not been increased since the agreements began in 2010. The approved 2027 assessment rates are: townships $42 per section (previously $35) and cities $12 per capita (previously $10), a roughly 20% increase.
The motion to send the agreements and adopt the 2027 rates was moved and seconded during the meeting and recorded as passed. County staff will send the agreements and rate notice to the affected townships and cities; specific billing and collection processes were not discussed in detail at the meeting.
