Staff indicated the changes addressed some earlier concerns but commissioners remained worried the building appeared too boxy and the parking area lacked adequate softening.
Several commissioners asked for renderings and a coherent landscape plan that shows how trees, plantings and other features would break up large expanses of parking. One commissioner said the building was "very stark" without landscaping and moved to delay the item so applicants could return with a complete plan; the motion to defer to the January 8 meeting carried by voice vote.
