Old English District tourism commission highlights national coverage and push to grow overnight stays in Lancaster County

Decker said the commission uses data‑driven tools, including geolocation and spend analytics, to target out‑of‑area visitors who stay overnight and spend at local restaurants, shops and attractions. He credited a recent Southern Living feature that generated millions of impressions and called the coverage a strong return on investment.
"Overnight visitors generate on average eight times more economic impact than day trippers," Decker said, and listed events and attractions (including the Red Rose Festival and local agritourism sites) the commission promotes. He also noted partnerships with state tourism agencies and national trade organizations.
Decker concluded by inviting council members to follow up if they have questions and said the commission would continue working with local stakeholders to boost visits and hospitality tax revenue.
