Ocilla council appoints three to industrial board and approves cemetery stone repairs

Councilman Lemora Moses moved to appoint Randy Crenshaw, Jake Walters and Sheri Rhodes; Councilman Steven Hudson seconded and the motion carried with a recorded 4–0 vote. The council then heard a report from Cemetery Committee member Ruth Burch that identified 10 graves needing work at a cost of $375 each. The council approved a motion (moved by Lemora Moses, seconded by Mona Paulk) to have Aldene Tyson purchase, repair, and replace the 10 gravestones under Burch’s direction; the vote was recorded as 4 yes.
Councilwoman Claire Stone also announced upcoming community events: the Tour of Homes on Dec. 9 and Night on the Town on Dec. 16. Personnel Committee Chair Steven Hudson said a committee meeting had been planned but not all members were present.
