Ocilla council hears Community Day reports; police request speed bumps and vehicle replacement funds

Manley and other councilors described park improvements, including freshly painted basketball goals in College Hill Park, and requested better coordination with Public Works and Standards and Compliance staff.
Police Chief Billy Hancock requested installation of speed-limit signage and speed bumps on Sly Hill Road to address speeding concerns. He also reported the city received about $12,000 in settlement funds for a wrecked police vehicle and requested replacement when feasible. Fire Chief Will Towson and City Clerk Lucile Middlebrooks had no comments during their reports.
During public comment, Waymond Harris raised the McKinley Road project and timing of the meeting; Billy Leverett reported a beaver dam on Frank Road and asked the city to trim an alley near his home. Council members reiterated a desire to coordinate on yard-debris and neighborhood maintenance, with Councilman Lemora Moses noting talks with Golden Environmental about yard-debris assistance.
The meeting closed after the council adopted routine adjournment motions.
