Commission backs permit amendment and CUP for baseball training facility expansion at 6900 County Road 110 West
Summary
An applicant sought to amend an interim use permit and obtain a conditional-use permit for an addition to a baseball/softball training facility to add indoor weight-training space. Staff reported no neighborhood objections and the applicant said he did not expect increased parking demand; the commission recommended the permits to City Council for final action July 20.

Staff described a two-part application for 6900 County Road 110 West to amend an existing interim use permit and to add a conditional-use permit because the proposed building addition exceeds the zoning threshold for a CUP. The parcel already hosts a baseball/softball training operation and the proposal would add dedicated weight-training space and equipment to supplement existing programs.
The applicant, who identified himself as Jesse Graves, told the commission the addition would primarily serve current program participants and he did not anticipate additional parking needs. "I don't think basically as I understand ... the traffic going to stay the same," Graves said. Staff noted mailed notices were sent to properties within the notification radius and that no neighbor comments had been received for this hearing.
Commissioners closed the hearing and moved to recommend approval of the permit amendment and the conditional-use permit to the City Council for final action on July 20. The motion was forwarded to the council in the form recommended by staff.
