Ardentown endorses Veale Road speed reduction and approves committee elections
Summary
At the Sept. 9 meeting trustees endorsed Ardencroft’s request to reduce Veale Road’s speed limit to 25 mph and approved multiple committee elections and interim appointments for assessment, budget and registration committees.
Ardentown trustees moved to endorse Ardencroft’s proposal to lower the Veale Road speed limit to 25 mph; the motion was seconded and recorded as passed with "All in favor." The endorsement is for coordination and does not by itself change county speed-limit authority.
Trustees also approved several committee elections and short-term appointments. Motions passed to elect Janna Scheflen and Lee Painter to the Assessment Committee for Sept. 2024–Sept. 2026 terms; to elect Alison Wakelin and Stefanie Lombardo to the Budget Committee for Sept. 2024–Sept. 2026 terms and to appoint Hillary Daye to complete Maurisa Byer’s term until Sept. 2025; and to elect Mhairi Craig and Maureen Gordon to the Registration Committee for Sept. 2024–Sept. 2026 terms. All motions were recorded as passed.
The minutes note upcoming November elections for Community Planning and several town offices including Town Chair, Town Treasurer and Town Secretary.
