The committee proposed a one-time $40 assessment per leasehold in 2026 to raise roughly $4,800 (based on at least 120 leaseholds) as the Ardentown portion, with the remainder to be raised through donations and volunteer labor; $1,000 in donations was already committed.
Steve Cohen presented an alternative idea and moved a resolution to approve use of up to $15,000 in town funding in 2026 plus in-kind volunteer time and donations to complete the project. The motion was seconded and recorded as passing unanimously (all in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstained).
The committee will pursue the DNREC/ORPT matching grant, solicit additional donations and organize volunteer installation support. Exact vendor selection and final budget allocations will be determined in follow-up committee meetings.
