Councilmember Heather Schoning told the Glendo Town Council on Oct. 15 that the town met with Kathy Weinsaft of Rural Water and plans to apply for a grant to fund new water meters and work on the Downey well house. The grant application is due in December, Schoning said.
The request grew out of a meeting between town staff and Rural Water representatives to identify potential funding sources for meter replacement and infrastructure at the Downey well house. Schoning did not identify a dollar amount for the anticipated project during the meeting.
The council did not take a formal vote on a funding commitment at the session; Schoning said staff would move forward with the grant application process and return with details if the grant opportunity proceeds.
