The Town of Glendo council on Aug. 13 approved a slate of routine business items including retail liquor-license renewals, catering permits for municipal property, and a $350 membership in the Platte County Chambers.
During a public hearing that drew no public comment, the council approved renewal of the retail liquor license for Old Western Saloon and the restaurant liquor license for Frontier Flame. Councilmember Heather Schoning initially abstained from the first motion on Angler's Rest but the council then took a separate motion (Kelly Jones) to approve Angler's Rest; Jeston Cundall seconded and the council voted to approve Angler's Rest as well. The clerk recorded the final outcome as the licenses were carried.
The council also approved catering permits for Angler's Rest and for Old Western Saloon to use municipal property for Sept. 6–7 events; Heather Schoning was noted as abstaining on the motion for Angler's Rest's permit but the permit was approved. Heather Schoning moved to join the Platte County Chambers at an annual cost of $350; Jeston Cundall seconded and the motion carried.
Other routine approvals included amended July 16 minutes (an edit to note senior meals cover 5 mapped miles), adoption of the August 2025 Treasurer's Report and the August claims after a clarification that Platte Valley Bank credit-card charges reflected a water-training hotel and travel expense. The council set a special meeting for Sept. 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. to award the contract for demolition of 110 S. Yellowstone Hwy.
The meeting adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
