ArdensReady draws 100-plus to open house as Ardentown seeks volunteers

Demonstrations and trainings at the open house included self-defense, emergency CPR, bleeding-control techniques, Narcan training for temporary opioid-overdose reversal, and resources for seniors provided by the University of Delaware.
Marianne and other volunteers said the program seeks additional volunteers to expand capacity. Ardentown was noted as the first of the Ardens to host this program locally; organizers asked residents to consider joining and to contact ArdensReady for next steps.
The trustees recorded the open house as a major success and noted the group’s role in community resilience planning. The minutes list ArdensReady as a volunteer initiative intended to supplement—rather than replace—state or federal emergency services.
