JRAC forms communications work group to amplify county successes and improve outreach

The JRAC announced a standing communications work group aimed at translating technical information into materials counties can use to engage local stakeholders and legislative partners.
Michelle, who leads the communications effort, said the committee’s first meeting on March 17 was largely organizational and that members represent a mix of communication experience. "Our first meeting was on March 17, it was more of an informational organizational type of meeting and structure," she said.
The communications group will inventory current resources on the JRAC website, catalog gaps identified in annual reports and TA requests, and prioritize actions such as an orientation package for new local JRAC members, email templates for chairs, and targeted outreach through professional associations’ public-information officers.
Michelle told the group the communications team will meet every other month and promised to compile suggestions from the work group and JRAC members into prioritized buckets for staff and CEPP follow-up. Members asked staff to share contact information and to submit additional ideas by email.
No vote or formal action was taken; the communications work group will report back at future meetings and maintain a standing role in JRAC outreach activities.
