The Acworth City Council unanimously approved consent agenda items A through F at its March 5, 2026 meeting after a motion from Mr. North and a second from Alderwoman Hos.
City Manager Albbright congratulated the officers who had just been promoted and said the city’s parks and recreation team held a ribbon cutting earlier that day for Cobble Park phase one. He also reported that the department is preparing budget-year work and that customer service processed seven new business licenses for February.
Albbright and other board members announced a community career fair scheduled for March 12 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the community center, with roughly 18–20 businesses committed to attend. He also reported January revenue figures presented in February: liquor-by-the-drink receipts just under $11,000, excise taxes just over $31,000 and hotel-motel receipts of about $32,000.
Other staff updates included planning and development notices: the planning commission will not meet on March 24 because of a lack of new items, the annual adoption of the zoning map is scheduled for early April 2026, and a certificate of occupancy was issued for a local business at 3102 Parkway (Caldwell Insulation Incorporated). The transcript also recorded that public hearings are scheduled for two new alcohol licenses (referred to as Taptown and Firefly).
No members of the public spoke during the public-comment period. A motion to adjourn was made and seconded later in the meeting and carried on a voice vote.
