Arcade council approves business license, pension budget, audit amendment and construction agreement

Arcade, Ga. — The Arcade City Council approved a slate of routine and financial items during its July 14 meeting at City Hall.
Council Member Ron Smith moved to approve a business license for Chris Nelson to operate Arm-N-Hammer Handyman at 128 Woodland Court in Jefferson, Ga., subject to a condition that no equipment be stored at the residence and that the business comply with Land Use Management Codes and city ordinances. The motion was seconded by Tom Hays and passed unanimously.
The council approved a budget amendment to implement the GMA Pension Plan in the amount of $39,483. Council Member Ron Smith moved the measure; Council Member Cindy Bone seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Council Member Cindy Bone moved that the mayor sign the FY 2024 budget amendment related to the city audit as provided by Bates Carter & Co., LLP; the motion was seconded by Ron Smith and passed unanimously.
The council amended the agenda to include, and then approved, a Construction Agreement between CXS Transportation, Inc. and GDCI GA 10 L.P., authorizing the mayor to sign the agreement. Both motions to add and to approve the agreement were passed unanimously after being moved by Cindy Bone and seconded by Ron Smith.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved unapproved minutes from the June 9, 2025 public hearing and the June 9, 2025 council meeting on motions by Ron Smith, seconded by Tom Hays, both recorded as passed unanimously. The meeting concluded after a motion by Tom Hays to adjourn, seconded by Cindy Bone.
