The council approved a $942 contribution to Adult Literacy Jackson (formerly the Certified Literate Community Program). Ron Smith moved to approve the contribution; Tom Hays seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Council members approved a recodification of the employee handbook after a motion by Ron Smith and a second from Tom Hays. The body also approved a $3,766 budget amendment to purchase a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software system for the Police Department; Cindy Bone moved the amendment, Ron Smith seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
