Walnut Grove 9— The City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 192 on May 12, replacing City Code section 11.2 with a new section 11.3 that updates the city's shade-tree pest-control provisions.
The city attorney reviewed the proposed change and recommended adopting Ordinance 192 to allow the city to monitor, treat and remove trees that become infested or diseased and to place the cost of treatment or removal on the property owner. Councilmember Dale Shannon moved to approve Ordinance 192; Councilmember Sue West seconded the motion. All members voted in favor and the motion carried.
The ordinance replaces the existing section in its entirety; the transcript records the attorney's explanation and the unanimous council vote but does not specify an effective date. The clerk will publish and file the adopted ordinance in the city code as the next administrative step.
