At its Feb. 23 meeting the Warroad City Council unanimously approved routine fiscal and administrative items, authorized maintenance on Government Island and granted a community event permit.
Councilor Michele Vandal moved and Councilor Joe Olafson seconded approval of the February 2026 checks totaling $229,742.50. The minutes include a line-item breakdown: E39984005 = $42,858.88; AP #56455-56501 = $131,660.55; PR #10289-10297 = $6,994.26; PR E#515294 = $48,228.81. The motion carried unanimously.
Council also approved the proposed 2026 committee, commission and boards list on a motion by Councilor Vandal, seconded by Councilor Olafson. Later in the meeting Warroad Community Development staff asked to mulch and burn brush on Government Island; Councilor Vandal moved to authorize the work and Councilor Olafson seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Separately, Councilor Joe Olafson moved to approve an exempt permit application from the Knights of Columbus to hold bingo on March 28, 2026; Councilor Vandal seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m. The minutes do not specify funding sources or operational contractors for the island work, nor do they list special conditions for the bingo permit.
