Kerwin Armitage, who presented the water-wastewater report, told the council the main clarifier rebuild has been put on hold because the contractor is having difficulty obtaining parts; he said he hopes the work will be completed by the end of the summer. Armitage also reported a water main break at 7th Street and Dewey was handled by Schmidt Construction.
Council member Dale Shannon moved and Dylan Albertson seconded a motion to replace the plant generator’s main breaker with a rebuilt unit, including a one-year warranty, at a cost of $1,400. "All voted in favor, motion carried," according to the meeting minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
The council also discussed contractors’ requests to draw bulk water for wind turbine projects planned in 2026. Members agreed to allow bulk fills subject to limits and provided that there are no unforeseen shortages or well-capacity problems. To monitor usage, the council approved a motion (mover: Dylan Albertson; seconder: Dale Shannon) to purchase a high-flow fill meter for the plant; the motion carried unanimously.
