Acting Mayor Kevin Thompson presided as the Warroad City Council approved plans and specifications for a 2026 sidewalk project and authorized staff to advertise for bids.
Councilor Michele Vandal moved to approve the plans and specifications and to authorize the city to solicit bids; Councilor Dean Dorholt seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The project includes construction of a new sidewalk system in the southeast part of Warroad to connect to Highway 11 and replacement of some sidewalk areas along Elk Street NW.
The council did not record additional funding details or a construction timeline in the minutes. The authorization directs city staff to proceed with the formal bidding process; the next public step is expected to be receipt and review of bids once advertised.
