At its March 10 meeting the Arcade City Council approved several routine business items, including a business license, an IT services contract, an amendment to online code hosting and a maintenance equipment purchase.
On a motion by Council Member Ron Smith, the council approved a business license for Anisha Damani to operate Jefferson Food & Gas at 3156 Athens Highway, subject to the Arcade Land Use and Maintenance Code (LUMC) zoning requirements.
Council then approved a contract agreement for IT services with Bradley Electronics; the minutes record the motion passed with four votes in favor and one abstention by Council Member Tom Hays. The council also approved an amendment to the CivicPlus (formerly MuniCode) contract for online hosting of the city’s Code of Ordinances; City Attorney Jody Campbell cautioned that the contract includes an annual 5% increase and advised the council to account for that during budgeting.
Finally, Council approved purchase of a MowerMax Prime Mower from ATMAX Equipment Co. for use by the City Maintenance Department; the maintenance superintendent and staff had earlier noted demonstration and equipment needs. All motions except the IT contract vote were recorded as unanimous.
Recorded votes, where noted in the minutes, are reflected in city records; the minutes do not include contract dollar amounts or vendor contract numbers.
