The Arcade City Council unanimously approved business licenses for two Jefferson-based operations at its Jan. 13 meeting.
Christopher Nelson was granted a license to operate Magnus Home Inspections at 128 Woodland Court after Council Member Ron Smith moved to approve the request and Council Member Tom Hays seconded. The motion recorded that the business must follow all Land Use Management Codes and city ordinances.
In a separate motion, the council approved a business license for John Hollingsworth to operate Athens Ice Company (formerly Ken Dew Ice) at 3185 Athens Highway in Jefferson. Council Member Ron Smith moved the approval and Council Member Cindy Bone seconded; the motion passed unanimously with the same conditions that the business comply with applicable land-use rules.
Both approvals were recorded as unanimous votes. The council gave no additional conditions beyond adherence to local land-use codes and ordinances; further licensing or inspections, if required by code, were not specified at the meeting.
The approvals conclude those agenda items; the council took no public comment on these applications.
