The Pleasant Hill City Council voted to approve a contract with Quality Roofing Company for the city-hall roof replacement and passed the budget amendment needed to fund it.
A city staff member said the contractor has signed the contract and that funding requires Budget Amendment 2027-03 in the amount of $54,343.17; staff noted a separate $45,000 contingency that would be requested only if necessary. Council moved and seconded approval of the contract (Bill 2622) and then moved and seconded the associated budget amendment.
During discussion one councilmember said they would vote no in order to be consistent with a prior meeting; the roll-call votes recorded at least three yes votes and one no on both the contract and the budget amendment, and both motions carried. Council did not receive public comment specific to the contract beyond general opportunity for public input.
The city administrator indicated staff will return to the council only if contingency funds are needed to cover additional costs. The contract award and appropriation complete the procurement step so that work can proceed under the terms of the signed contract.
