Littleton board approves facilities-sharing agreement with City of Aendale

The Littleton Elementary District governing board voted to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Aendale to formalize shared use of facilities and strengthen district-city collaboration.
Under the agreement, the district and city may make reciprocal use of gyms, fields, parking and parks for events and programming. Board members who also have experience with city boards expressed support, saying the partnership could help expand access to municipal parks and facilities for students and families.
Trustees suggested the IGA could be a first step toward broader marketing collaborations, such as shared banners and community outreach that celebrate student work. The motion to approve the agreement carried in a recorded vote.
Administration said the agreement removes ad hoc barriers when the city or district needs to use another party's facilities for events, and that the two organizations will continue to identify opportunities to align services and programming.
