County commissioner briefs Waterville council on bonding bill and landowner meeting for possible water storage

During the public comment portion of the April 1 meeting, County Commissioner David Priesler updated the council on two county items.
Priesler said a county bonding bill seeking funds is currently in the revisors' office in the Senate and that he plans to contact Senator Graham for a status update. "There is a bonding bill to request dollars that is still in the revisors office of the senate," Priesler said.
He also announced an informational landowner meeting next week for property owners who fit criteria for possible water‑storage participation; the county is targeting landowners on the upper side of the Cannon River in Le Sueur County and on the Whitewater in Waseca County. Priesler emphasized the meeting is strictly informational and designed to identify interested landowners and share contact channels with the County and the Soil Conservation District.
Priesler noted the county is mindful of farming schedules during planting season and encouraged interested landowners to attend or contact county staff for information.
