Troy Tolzman of DT's Saloon presented a proposal for summertime "bike nights" to the Waterville City Council on April 1, describing roll‑ins with live music, local food and possible food trucks and suggested a street closure (one block of 3rd Street from Main to Paquin).
Tolzman said the events were tentatively planned for the first Sunday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the third Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a potential fourth‑Sunday golf‑cart or side‑by‑side roll‑in. He asked whether the city could provide barricade delivery and removal if a City employee could deliver them.
Councilmember Dave Wollin said the Council was supportive provided Tolzman coordinates with the Chamber, which could assist with insurance, and asked him to return with greater detail. Mayor Bill Conlin suggested Tolzman meet with the Chamber; Tolzman said he would. A citizen, Mariska, noted the events would be welcome for visiting campers.
The council did not take formal action on event permits or street closures at the meeting and asked staff to review logistics, insurance and barricade needs before the request returns to the Council.
