The Littleton Governing Board approved the administration’s recruitment budget for 2025–26 and accepted administrative requests that allow upcoming hiring and facilities work to proceed.
On recruitment, staff said the allocation will fund travel to teacher recruitment fairs and conferences (in‑state, out‑of‑state and international) intended to address hiring and retention challenges. The board asked for future reporting on how many teachers were recruited with these funds, the number of Teach For America teachers in the district, and the effectiveness of referral/bonus incentives.
On facilities, the board approved updated project dates required by the School Facilities Board to move forward with the Australia Vista STEM Academy roof repair project originally awarded in February 2023. Finance staff explained the district will initially fund the project and seek full reimbursement from the School Facilities Board once expenditures are invoiced; the transcript cites an estimated project total of about $3.2 million in contract documents, and staff said the SFB will reimburse the district for eligible costs.
The board also directed the board secretary to submit a ‘yes’ vote on the 2025 ASBA bylaw change proposal.
Next steps: staff will return with recruitment outcome reporting, routine invoicing/submission to the School Facilities Board for reimbursement, and follow‑up briefing materials as requested.
