Clear Creek ISD honors student artists, substitute teachers and award‑winning educators

The Clear Creek Independent School District opened its June 22 meeting with multiple recognitions celebrating student and staff achievement.
The board honored junior and senior VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) participants: 14 district junior students earned platinum medals statewide and a group of high‑school finalists were introduced; several students gave their names and the schools they will attend in the fall. The district asked families and community members to applaud the students and took photos to commemorate the awards.
The board also recognized its 2026 substitutes of the year, naming Rosie Decure (elementary, Hall Elementary) and Miss Maxi (secondary, Victory Lakes Intermediate) for their service and commitment; the secondary honoree noted she balances teaching with active military service in the Air Force.
In staff recognition, a Clear Springs High School teacher was honored as the 2026 Texas 'Outstanding Teacher in American History' by the Daughters of the American Revolution (Sam Houston chapter nomination); the teacher recently retired after a 28‑year career. The board congratulated Greg Goodman and Stephanie Albert, director and assistant director of visual and performing arts, after the district was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants as one of the nation’s best communities for music education.
The recognitions underscored district emphasis on arts, teacher leadership and community partnerships as students and staff prepare for the coming school year.
