Metro Region Governance Committee adopts bylaws, elects chair and vice chair

The Metro Region Governance Committee for Opioid Abatement in Cascade County adopted a revised set of bylaws on June 4 and elected its officers.
Attorney Ben Snipes opened discussion on the committee’s draft bylaws (Exhibit A) and City Attorney David Dennis provided background on their development. County Commissioner Eric Hinebauch moved to accept the bylaws with a correction to Section B of Section 3.3 and to add Section 3.4 to the contract person form; City Commissioner Rick Tryon seconded. The motion carried, 6-0.
During the same session, board members conducted officer elections. City Commissioner Rick Tryon nominated County Commissioner Eric Hinebauch for chair; Commissioner Joe Briggs seconded the nomination and the motion carried, 6-0. For vice chair, Tryon nominated City Commissioner Shannon Wilson; Commissioner Jim Larson seconded and the motion likewise carried, 6-0.
The committee’s minutes list attending legal and finance staff who participated in the discussion, including Ben Snipes of Kovacich Snipes Johnson, David Dennis (City Attorney), Carey Ann Haight (Chief Civil Deputy County Attorney), Travis Cushman (Deputy County Attorney), and Trista Besich (Chief Financial Officer).
