Hanover Park Board asks public to help fill two vacancies, to review Adopt‑a‑Park plan

The Hanover Park Board asked the public to help fill two open seats and assigned members to review a revived Adopt‑a‑Park program at its Aug. 27 meeting.
City Clerk Jenny Peterson told attendees that two Park Board seats are vacant and asked guests and board members to help spread the word. Peterson also said board members should compare Hanover's 2011 Adopt‑a‑Park document with a 2024 draft prepared by Board Member Faye Schnell and bring suggested revisions to the September meeting.
The board also received a short recap of Concerts in the Park from Board Member Briana Rupenthal; she reported that using the garage as a weather-contingency staging area worked well and that the last concert of the season drew a fairly good turnout. During the open forum, resident Melissa Sullivan asked whether the city is considering building more pickleball courts; the board discussed the possibility but noted there are currently no concrete plans.
Chair Brandhorst moved to adjourn at 8:00 p.m.; the motion was seconded by Rupenthal and carried unanimously.
