The City of Hanover Economic Development Authority on April 17 approved routine financial items and voted to spend up to $4,000 on branded drinkware for local promotion.
Treasurer Jessica Johnson reviewed the EDA financial reports and said, "All loan payments are current." Johnson moved to approve the accounts payable and financial reports; Todd Bartels seconded and the board voted, with all present in favor, to carry the motion.
The board also voted to purchase promotional drinkware after Johnson presented options. The motion, moved by Johnson and seconded by Bartels, authorized up to $4,000 to order 100 units total (50 pottery-style coffee mugs and 50 20-ounce branded tumblers). Members did not identify further distribution plans during the meeting.
City Administrator Jennifer Nash updated the board on a pending purchase agreement for the Hilltop property and said prospective buyers are negotiating remaining site-improvement items. Nash said the buyers intend to remodel the building for a restaurant this summer and “will be requesting assistance from the EDA through the low-interest loan and grant program” if the closing occurs before the May meeting. The EDA did not take any formal loan action at this session.
Board members requested follow-up items for staff: Rudie asked for an update on the CSAH 19 improvement project at the next meeting, and Bartels suggested publishing a historical listing of EDA investments on the City website to illustrate program outcomes.
The meeting adjourned at 9:51 a.m. after a motion by Chair Sam Rudie, seconded by Jessica Johnson; minutes were attested by Jennifer Nash, City Administrator.
