Paul Otto, speaking on behalf of the applicant, described a revised development proposal and said issues identified at a February Wright County review and the 2009 Natural Resources overlay had prompted changes to the plan. Otto said the plan previously recommended four 10‑acre lots; the applicant now requests a planned unit development that would create two larger and two smaller lots, using the creek as a boundary between parcels.
The change drew positive comment from township members. Supervisor Nelson said the new proposal was “well thought out,” Chair Chris Klein said it fit the ordinance better, and Commissioner Vanek said the layout addressed how to use the property on the far side of the creek. After discussion, Supervisor Nelson moved to recommend the rezoning and Commissioner Vanek seconded; the motion carried 8‑0.
The township’s vote is a recommendation to Wright County; the county’s zoning authority will consider the rezoning request in its process.
