At the Nov. 26, 2024 meeting the City of Hanover Park Board discussed winter rink placement and voted to authorize purchasing pickleball-court signage.
City Clerk Jenny Peterson told the board that Public Works will begin flooding rinks soon and asked where the board wanted rinks in 2025. Board members said they want a rink at Cardinal Park and a rink at Mallard Park but asked that the Mallard rink be placed away from the basketball court to a different location in that park.
Peterson introduced a sample pickleball sign that lists basic rules and housekeeping. The Park Board agreed to proceed with purchasing the signage for the pickleball courts.
On staffing and governance the clerk reported there will be two Park Board seats available in 2025; Chair Brandhorst said he will occupy the seat that expires at the end of 2025 but could not commit to a full three-year term. In brief reports, member Melissa Sullivan thanked Public Works for holiday decorations and Faye Schnell noted possible Minnesota DNR training and a shading-structure grant opportunity. Brandhorst congratulated Council Liaison Greg Zgutowicz on his win for mayor.
The meeting opened and closed with routine procedural motions: Brandhorst moved to approve the amended agenda and later to adjourn at 7:45 p.m.; both motions carried unanimously. The board did not finalize exact rink locations or sign vendor contracts during this meeting; staff follow-up is expected.
