EDA expresses interest in potentially acquiring remnant county parcels near CSAH 19 and River Road

The Hanover Economic Development Authority on Sept. 18 voted to express interest in considering purchase of remnant parcels at the northwest corner of CSAH 19 and River Road once Wright County determines which portions of the property are no longer needed for ponding or right‑of‑way.
Todd Bartels moved the board express EDA interest in considering purchase if the City does not acquire the parcels; Greg Zgutowicz seconded the motion and the board recorded the motion as carried. Minutes state that Wright County acquired larger parcels for ponding and additional right‑of‑way needs for the road project and that county staff said parts of the parcels are likely to be unneeded after the project is complete and that the county would approach the City to potentially sell the property after project costs are accounted for and valuation is determined. A developer has expressed interest in the property, according to the minutes.
The motion does not commit funds; it registers the EDA's interest so staff can follow up if Wright County offers the unneeded parcels for sale. The board adjourned at 9:36 a.m.
