Hanover EDA appoints officers, approves financial reports and identifies priority goals for Council

At its Jan. 16 meeting the Hanover Economic Development Authority completed oaths of office for two members, appointed officers, approved minutes and financial reports unanimously, and identified priority goals (including downtown revitalization and support for commercial growth) to feed the City Council goal-setting session.
The Hanover Economic Development Authority on Jan. 16 completed oaths of office for John Ganfield and Greg Zgutowicz and approved a slate of procedural items, appointing Sam Rudie as chair, Todd Bartels as vice chair and Jessica Johnson as treasurer.
Ted Zrust moved to appoint the officers and Brian Dismang seconded; the board voted unanimously to approve. "All in favor. Motion carried," the minutes record. Treasurer Jessica Johnson reviewed the EDA special revenue fund and the business incentive fund and reported that all loan payments are current; the board unanimously approved accounts payable and the financial reports.
Members reviewed a tally of priority goals they had submitted to staff. The items receiving the most votes were roundabout centers and County Road 19 construction, a website redesign, support for commercial growth (noted in the tally as Miller, Reitzner and a possible CSAH 19 project remnant), and downtown revitalization efforts that included parking ideas and rights of first refusal. Nash said the EDA's priority list will be included in the Council's goal-setting discussion in March; members agreed to cancel the February meeting and reconvene after Council goal-setting.
