Hanover EDA names seven photo contest finalists, sets prizes and Harvest Festival voting

The Hanover Economic Development Authority on July 17 approved seven finalists for the city photo contest and set prizes for winners ahead of the Harvest Festival. Jennifer Nash, Hanover city administrator, reviewed photos submitted and the five finalists previously selected by the City Council; EDA members asked staff to add two additional photos to expand the list to seven finalists.
The EDA agreed that each finalist will receive a Yeti mug; first prize will be a $100 gift card to a Hanover business, second prize $50 and third prize $25. Winners will also receive certificates and recognition at an upcoming City Council meeting, and the EDA will submit the winning photos to the local newspaper for coverage.
Nash said staff will produce poster boards with the finalists and include a QR code linking to a Facebook page so festival attendees can vote. The posters and voting page are planned to be in place ahead of the Harvest Festival.
The EDA discussed distribution and promotion of the contest at its regular meeting; no formal motion was recorded specifically for the contest decisions beyond the group's direction to add two finalists and proceed with prize and display plans. The meeting adjourned at 8:47 a.m. so members could attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Kingston Auto.
