Hennepin County identified funding to partner on County Road 117/19 improvements; construction planned for 2027

City Administrator Jennifer Nash told the Hanover Economic Development Authority on Jan. 16 that Hennepin County has identified funding to partner with a federal appropriation the city applied for and received to improve the County Road 117/19 intersection. "Construction is now planned for 2027," Nash said.
Nash said she will continue coordinating with Hennepin County and the city engineer and will explore additional funding sources to pursue improvements at the County Road 123/19 intersection as well. EDA members discussed potential impacts to properties along the County Road 19 corridor and zoning classifications affecting commercial parcels.
The update did not include a formal funding breakdown, specific construction schedule beyond the 2027 target, or estimates for right-of-way or property impacts. Nash said staff will continue outreach with county partners and the city engineer as project planning advances.
The EDA did not take formal action on the project at the meeting; the update was provided for information and to guide EDA priority discussions that will be forwarded to the City Council during its upcoming goal-setting session.
