Hanover EDA approves 2025 preliminary budget and levy; routine business handled

The City of Hanover Economic Development Authority approved a preliminary 2025 budget and levy at its Aug. 15, 2024 meeting, retaining funding for staff time to support economic development work and for business incentive programs, City Administrator Jennifer Nash said.
Why it matters: the preliminary levy and budget set the EDA’s fiscal direction for 2025 and preserve funding streams used to promote private investment in Hanover.
Nash presented the draft budget and preliminary levy, saying the proposal is consistent with the 2024 budget and continues planned support for staff time and business incentive programs. Member MaryAnn Hallstein moved to approve the budget and levy; Treasurer Jessica Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried with all members present voting in favor.
At the meeting the board also completed routine business. Chair Todd Bartels opened the meeting at 8:00 a.m.; Hallstein moved and Johnson seconded approval of the agenda as presented. Hallstein moved and Ted Zrust seconded approval of the May 16, 2024 minutes. Treasurer Jessica Johnson reviewed the EDA special revenue fund and business incentive fund and reported that all loan payments are current; Johnson moved and Hallstein seconded approval of the accounts payable and financial reports. Each procedural motion was approved by the four members present.
