Tracy Young elected DDA chair; board to propose bylaws change moving elections to January

The Downtown Development Authority of Tyrone voted to elect Tracy Young as chair during its March 9 meeting and heard staff recommend formal revisions to the authority’s bylaws.
A board member nominated Tracy Young for the chair position and the board voted "all in favor," after which Tracy Young said she would not seek additional terms now and would preside starting at the next meeting. The meeting record does not include a roll-call vote or named mover and seconder for the nomination.
Staff outlined two planned bylaw changes: move annual officer elections from March to January to align the DDA with other local boards, and split a currently combined secretary/treasurer position into two distinct offices. Staff told the board the bylaws require at least 10 days’ notice before adopting amendments and said the formal amendments will be presented at the next meeting to satisfy that notice requirement.
Board members discussed interim arrangements: staff and the board will continue operating under current practices until the bylaws are formally amended and the board will reappoint Sierra in the meantime to preserve administrative continuity. No final bylaw text was adopted at the March 9 meeting.
The board also took routine procedural actions earlier in the meeting, approving the day’s agenda and last month’s minutes by voice vote. The meeting adjourned after staff and board members discussed other items on the agenda.
